Walter Clearfoster was born in Ipswich, UK. But for most of his life, he was known as Trevor Ford. When searching for a pen name, he resurrected his much-loathed middle names. 

He studied Graphic Design at Maidstone College of Art, wrote advertising copy for agencies in London, illustrated for magazines and newspapers and lectured in Art & Design at Milton Keynes College. In 2001, he taught Business English in Germany. He then returned to the UK in 2002 to teach. In 2009, he completed his Masters in Coaching and Mentoring.

Digging in the Dirt is Walter's debut novel.
